a person could attend college here in the U.S. while here on tourist visa. Apparently my girlfriend's relative did that -- somehow. We're pretty sure he did not have a student visa. How could he have done that? (it was about 20 years ago)
Thank you,
Edgar

Even better, had they come on a student visa, they would have paid way more money. The illegals that I knew paid the same as US citizens. I know a Colombiana who married a gringo and went to the USA 14 years ago, and she said all they had to do then, to get the fiance visa, was a few hours time and diligence, in Bogota, one time, no six months of paperwork and waiting, and, she was granted the visa with little questioning and no problems. Where do we go from here? 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Ferchousa says on Oct 15, 2006, 21:38: that was 20 years ago as others have mentioned, 20 years ago things were way different. These days you can't work off campus when in a student visa. 20 years ago I don't knwo if you could, but if you couldn't people probably didn't care as much. The world has become, unfortunately, too structured these days. Traveling, living, moving and working in the world was way easier those days.
