I am very proud of Colombia!

Greetings all, I know this is a bit old news now, but I have just caught up on things after another medical adventure. While the hostages were being rescued by the Colombian military, I was on a surgical table VA Medical Center Miami getting total left knee replacement. After a short stint in ICU, I received word of the rescue from the TV in my recovery room. Whoa! Caught me completely off guard. With such good news who needs pain killers after surgery. I spent ten days in the VA Medical Center for rehab and recovery. Once home, I read all of my home delivered Miami Heralds to catch up on how it went down. Boy, did the Colombian military hoodwink the FARC! I hope this helps for the chance of Uribe getting a third (and final) term. And I hope it helps with the progress of the Colombian free trade agreement. Viva Colombia!

I lover Uribe for getting things done, but I'm hoping that the next leader can make the transition to a peaceful Colombia that doesn't wake up screaming "There are commies under my bed"

Colombia needs more social programs. There is no doubt in my mind that there is enough money in Colombia for free health care for all. Now theat we beat the commies (or will soon) we should steal a few ideas.

It would be nice to end conscription as well. I think that the police and military have a fantastic reputation and should be able to recruit volunteers. It won't be long before Colombia is the envy of the americas
