I-130 from VSC --> NYC processing office

Hello, I just received word from the USCIS that my I-130 application has been sent from the Vermont Service Center for processing. Is this the usual chain of progression? I've never heard of this, that is why I am asking. Also, if anyone has experience w/ this, how long will it take at the NYC office?

Thanks.
