Husband Adopted from Colombia

My husband was adopted from colombia in 1979, he has his birth mothers full name, birthdate and where she was born. Is there anywhere I can go to find out more information on his biological mother. he just wants any additional information on her. He has been struggling with this his whole life and I would do anything to help him find something. thanks so much for you help.

Ir depends.. Usually big cities have more information resources, which could help to find trace of a particular person, but small towns have people that have around forever and know everybody.
Besides that, the birth data could lead to find her birth certificate, that would contain adress and some other info of her mother back then.
The ICBF (Colombian Familiar Welfare Institute) should have a record of his adoption, and being him a grown-up, the law entitles him to see the files and search for his origins.
what is his mother birthplace and year of birth?

ICBF web page

ICBF is the goverment institute for treating adoptions and other issues relatives to children, as Sancho said.

This is the ICBF web page in English:

http://www.icbf.gov.co/ingles/home.asp

Here, you can write about your husband history and asking for his rights to know the truth (I understand after the adopted child is 20 yrs old could know birth parents).

Don't worry if you email ICBF and they take 2 or 3 weeks to asnwer you. Let's know if you need help
