HOW WELL DO YOU MOVE AROUND IN THE CITY?

Very Easy Bogotá as well as most cities in North and South America are really easy because they use the grid system. And if they streets go by numbers (such as Bogotá) and not names it's even better.

Wanna experience getting lost? Go to Europe sometime: there are no grids in the cities (but maybe the iberian peninsula) and the streets all have names. If you aren't familiar with the area or have a good map AND a compass you'll get lost completely.

Bogotá is a dream: with the grid, the numbers and the mountains you always know exactly where you are.

NOT so easy 1) Addresses keep changing and people often give obsolete directions because of this. You better be careful you buy an up to date map too!

2) sometimes there is calle 39 calle 39a calle 39b etc and streets arent always well labelled!

3) wtf does 'diagonal' mean? :P

Although I admit it is a hell of a lot easier to navigate than Rio or even Brooklyn :P

I think driving in NJ is quite simple especially if your getting on the Turnpike or the Gardenstate PKWY. You would panic if you entered NYC..I always get lost in brooklyn..every damn time..and I have a great sense of directions..

People navigate Medellin all the time without maps because of the system of numbering the calles and carreras. There are only a few US cities with similar systems, notably Salt Lake City. If you know the number and street of a house in SLC, you know exactly where it is and how to get there. My wife finds cities like San Antonio extremely confusing with chaotic systems of streets running every which way with similar names like Vance Jackson and Jackson-Keller or Perrin-Beitel and Naco-Perrin or worse yet, Military Drive, NW Military Highway and SE Military Drive.

Here, Manhattan and Bronx are generally easy, except for places like the village and riverdale. Queens is mostly pretty easy. Brooklyn still confuses the hell outta me after almost 9 years here!

In Bogota it's really easy to know how to get within a few blocks of where you are going but somtimes the actual address can be confusing!
