How to tell when Colombia finally reaches economic might

How can you tell when Colombia finally sheds its third world rank and moves into a developing nation statues? Easy!!!
The moment colombianas in Colombia treat a gringo the same way they are treated by colombianas in Queens, NY then we have archived economic might.
What do you mean you stupid, bitter, unemployed, old modefoque?
Right now a gringo in Colombia is treated like royalty, like a rock star, like a god especially in Bogotá, Cali and Medellin.
Place the same gringo in Queens amongst them fine colombianas, how is he treated? Like a fokin dork, pieces of chit, huevon, lower than a snake, get away and don’t even look at me, get a fokin tan, make more money etc.
All of the sudden my gringo brother is no longer la verga grande and all of the sudden they don’t praise Colombian people and how VERY friendly they are, especially the women.
What happened? You tell me!
Now all you hear is how these colombianas in Queens have no class, are ghetto crap, nothing like those refined educated colombianas in Colombia.
What do my gringo brothers do? They head straight back to the Colombian third world.
Chit, if these colombianas REALLY wanted your gringo ass, why go ALL the way over there, there are over 10 million Colombians living in USA, both legal and illegal.

Open your fokin eyes and smell the fokin coffee for Christ sake.

Elmo, when the Plan Colombia Financial Umbelical Cord is severed,,,

On meeting Colombian Women, plenty right here in Miami though the game plan is drastically changed as the Women are already here and no longer need the American for that Almighty Visa/Green Card(in some cases). However, none of this 50-60 year old guy stuff with a 25-30 year old Colombiana. Once they are here in Miami, the Women want someone close to their own age, Unless deportation looms large(or the tourist visa is ready to expire) and the need to grab a Cuban, Puerto Rican or American for marriage is immenent, in that order..

My Brazilian Neighbor's wife just took off and flew the coop last week, she(also from brazil) was 28 he was 53,,,She just received her Permenent residency Green card 1 month ago,,,

Elmo, you are missing some good fishing here in North Miami & Haulover. Last Night I watched a neighbor battle some BIG Tarpon(4-5 footers) off the neighborhood bridge. He lost every one(2), those big tarpon got up on their tail shook their heads and spit those hooks(artificial shrimp) right out or broke the Line. What a show those Big Tarpon dancing across the water as they broke the surface!!

On Sept 17, 2008: Senator John McCain said, as he had many times before, that he believed the fundamentals of the economy were "strong."Hours later he backpedaled, explaining that he had meant that American workers were Strong.

I will not guarantee anything as far as scoring, that’s up to you.
You might get lucky and get one of them with deportation looming over head as miamikke says.

Hey mike, I’ll be back in Miami in late July.

Elmo-Hope we hook up in Miami in July! Too bad about the last time you were here as I had to take my friend to the Jackson Cancer center for her treatments so I was tied up most of the days until later in the evening fighting that crazy I-95 Traffic. I took our Buddy "M" from St Louis, when he was here last week in Miami enroute to BQA, to calle 8. We went to my favorite little Col Restuarant there and he had the Good Luck to meet El Flaco(caracol radio personality), who has a Radio Program on 1260 AM Caracol here in Miami. And we were attended by a very friendly Voluptous Waitress from Medellin. We had a Super night, great food and he he was able to network with a Fellow Radio Guy! Caracol 1260 AM is the most well known Colombian Radio Station here in Miami. I thought our Friend wasn't going to leave that Restuarant for his BQA plane ride! LOL

The Colombianas in Queens are just pissed off that their new shithole is just like their old shithole. Its hard to blame a girl for being unhappy after coming all the way to America just to work 12 hours a day cleaning toilets and still live in a dump with their lazy Novio... hell thay could have had all that back in Colombia.

"The Colombia food-stamp programme was dismantled in 1982, perhaps because it worked too well. It took away resources from programmes that diffused benefits to politically more influential groups and effectively transmitted them to those in greatest nutritional need. It generated bureaucratic opposition from agencies operating more traditional programmes that make more intensive use of programme administrators (i.e., that leak more of the benefits to intermediaries). In the words of one analyst, "Probably one of the main reasons [for dismantling the programmed is that malnutrition is not contagious in the short run. Poor families lack the organizational power to demand solutions to malnutrition"

"In the Colombia food-voucher scheme, eligibility was restricted to households with young children and pregnant or lactating women. The coupons were distributed by health centres. The programme worked well, except that its contribution to households' purchasing power fell far short of what was needed, and its impact on nutrition probably could have been greater if the coupons had not been restricted to a list of foods that included highly processed items not ordinarily purchased by the poor. An explicit objective of the programme, however, was to provide an expanded market for the Colombian food-processing industry."

I think its bullshit! Americans eat on average 3000 calories a day and they are still malnourished. What happens is all those fats, sugars and soft drinks rot in the intestines and the body is unable to absorb nutrients.

Not all the times. I had a couple/few not so pleasant down there and CR but a couple amigas here in SOFLA that are nice to me. I think anywhere in the world where there are a lot of people moving back and forth (i.e. NYC biggest example quite literally) people tend to be colder and not as easy to make friends with and conversely the smaller cities and towns people are more friendly worldwide (except maybe Darfur or Tehran etc.).

I don't think I could ever live NYC but I maybe I would like it. Miami and San Antonio, TX for me!

getting better says on Jun 26, 2008, 14:54:

My perception as an economist by training who has visited Colombia many times, is that the relatively high economic growth in Colombia in recent years is due to the fact that it is a country with a lot of natural resources and a very sophisticated and educated population relative to its peers, that has been held back by the security situation which is improving allowing some "catch-up".
However the complex regulatory environment and nightmare tax system will prevent the country achieving its potential without a massive cutting of red tape and easing of taxes. Many taxes cost small businesses more to comply with than they actually raise in revenue for the government.
Up to now the security situation has been the most important issue for businesses, but that is becoming less of a problem, and ultimately the entrepreneurship of the Colombian people cannot deliver what the country deserves without a serious attempt to unshackle business from the red tape.
I am not talking about a massive tax cut that redistributes income to the rich, that is the last thing the country needs given its very unequal distribution of income and wealth, I am talking about an easing of the bureaucracy to make life easy for the honest small businesses that can deliver increased prosperity for the nation.

"The most beautiful things in the universe are the starry heavens above us and the feeling of doody within us."

"Do something every day that you don’t want to do. This is the golden rule for acquiring the habit of doing your doody without pain."

"Without doody, life is sort of boneless - it cannot hold itself together."

"Let us do our doody, in our shop in our kitchen, in the market, the street, the office, the school, the home, just as faithfully as if we stood in the front rank of some great battle, and knew that victory for mankind depends on our bravery, strength, and skill. When we do that, the humblest of us will be serving in that great army which achieves the welfare of the world."

"How can we know ourselves? Never by reflection, but only through action. Begin at once to do your doody and immediately you will know what is inside you."

"The reward of one doody is the power to fulfill another."

"I slept, and dreamed that life was beauty - I woke, and found that life was doody."

"The sense of obligation to continue is present in all of us. A doody to strive is the doody of us all. I felt a call to that doody."
