I even tryed to run but having to go uphill in some parts and the altitude kicked my butt. Having or renting a bicycle would have been the way to go. Saw so many bicyclers out, so much terrain to explore.

get down, get down. are you afraid of the boogie monster?

Agreed! The best times I had in Bogotá were the ones where I was just stumbling through the city. Walking around Luna Park where my friends live, Restrepo, La Candelaria (of course), Chapinero, Venecia, etc. Little shops, artesans on the streets, un tinto con almohabanas, jugo de lulo o de guanábana...yes, I totally agree, walking is a great way to see this wonderful city.

A bike? You are one brave mutha-f at #ker, lol! I guess there are some really wonderful areas for biking (i.e. the paths through Chapinero, etc.). However, the paths didn't run through most of the areas that I spent time in and there is no way that I would get on a bike w/ 4 Colombian drivers sharing a two lane street!

Hoy se nota en la floresta un ambiente de alegría. ¡Y el rumor de ranchería es mas dulce y sabe a fiesta!

No place is like Bogota on a blue sky Sunday afternoon (I know it does not happen often) We like to start around the Tequendama, walk the park, look at the architecture, find some tiny place to eat, maybe take a ride up the tram. Nice to see families in the parks (unlike the US, mostly) Few cities have as much diversity as Bogota does.

I echo the sentiments that it's a great way to know the city. I really like that the roads close down for the ciclovia, and you can see people in their best clothes on the way to Church, and familes come together, and in Parque Nacional people are doing yoga or hiking up to Monserrate.
