How to find cheap flights from the UK to Colombia?

Ok, following on from an earlier thread about flights from the UK I suggested starting a thread on how to find the best priced flights from the UK to Colombia and it would be interesting to see the methods other people use.

My own personal experiences of this have been as follows:

www.expedia.co.uk seems to provide the best deals, but the dates are not flexible and date changes are not

When I have used Air France it has been good with the only problem seeming to be a bit of a rush on connecting flights and the fact that the staff in Charles de Gaulle provide little assistance even when the security queue is long and you are pleading for help as your flight is due to leave in 20 minutes.

The best deal I have found and used was March 2006 with Avianca from Madrid. The total cost including Manchester - Madrid, Madrid to Cali and back was £550. This was also booked through Expedia but I have never seen a deal as good as this since. The prices direct from the AVIANCA website are extortionate.

I also went at the same time this year - Air France and it cost £650.

My latest searches have been through www.kayak.co.uk (a price comparison site that redirects to airlines) which finds flights with Continental via Houston : these seem to be the best prices but I am wary of going through the US with the hassle of going through Customs/immigration etc for a connecting flight.

Another company that I have used that found a cheaper deal than expedia (on one occasion) was dial-a-flight.

Tips in Lonely Planet etc mention specialist agencies in areas inhabited by Latin Americans. So does anybody living in London know of any agencies that offer good deals?

Time of the year : March/April has not proved too expensive.

July/August are steep, as is December.
