We are looking to stay at an economical hotel in downtown.
How safe is the area around...Carrera 54 with 49, Cúcuta entre Ayacucho y Colombia?
Thanks.

dwmte7 says on Mar 15, 2009, 07:35: adrienne...there's another hotel/hostel over in prado, can't remember the name. there was a post about it a few weeks ago. a MUCH nicer area, quieter, and well located for centro. maybe the owner will pipe in here and give you a lead. patriarch 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

dwmte7 says on Mar 15, 2009, 08:26: yeah, mark....but the better between bads is a difficult choice. i don't know what the chap in prado charges, but the folks here on pbh who've stayed there had nothing but great comments about the place. and it's out of the 'tiger's eye' of trouble that goes along with centro. patriarch 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

mranderson says on Mar 15, 2009, 10:51: El hueco late at night is pretty much a ghost town. The candelaria police station is close by and I believe the police make regular rounds through there. It´s not like thieves are going to be waiting for you on the street corners but you never know if one will be walking through and decide to make a target out of you. Although that can happen to you anywhere in centro.
