how long is the tourist visa?

I thought that a tourist could stay up to 90 days in Colombia per year (that's what they told me at the border with Ecuador, and at DAS in Bogotá, although that was about a year ago)... but I see some posts talking about being able to stay up to 180 days. What's the answer? (for a US citizen)
Thanks!

max six months on passport entry with no visa provided you get the proper extensions from DAS-generally 60 days-90 days rarely upon entry.

If I had known how completely lame the visa extension stamp was the I would have saved myself the $68000, got hold of someone else's, taken it down la novena and got it copied in a stationery shop.

Anyone else wants a tourist visa extension then I will do it for 40K, no passport photos, no queuing at the bank, no waiting in the DAS office, no iris scans and no comprehensive fingerprints.

**Note- the above idea might be illegal**

you can extend up to 180 days per calender year. in Bogota DAS will give 60 day at a time extensions. elsewhere it's 30.

¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?

I will do it for 25K my fwend! I won't be beaten on price by DAS. If it comes to the crunch and they realise you never made an application, just blame it on a DAS screw up
