I was wondering that how come i can't find any immobiliaria that rents appartments in Cali on the internet? I googled for hours, but can't really find anything.....
Just lots of house selling, but hardly any renting. And what i found was too expensive! Don't tell me that the average rent in cali is $1500 usd? And I thought Amsterdam was expensive.......

Lostgringo says on Aug 24, 2007, 19:28: Frank is correct. Renting a furnished apartment is not that easy to do. Colombians for the most part are reluctant to do this. Probably their biggest fear is that people will run off with everything in the apartment. I have rented a few apartments here in Medellin but they were not furnished. Yes I got them pretty cheap. But I had to furnish them. Absolutely nothing was in the apartment. No light bulbs, no shower heads and no hot water. I had to buy a hot water heater myself and hire someone to clean the apartment. Sure I got a deal but at what price? If you knew someone who knew someone you could like share a house with a Colombian family. You would get a good deal but you would be under their scrutney 24/7. For the most part you have only three choices if you are not planning to stay long term and don't have a family or friend you can stay with. A hotel, a hostel or renting an apartment at gringo prices. Another thing, you will be very hard pressed to find an apartment from a local that has internet. wendell13 says on Aug 24, 2007, 22:56: I live in Cali and have had no problem renting higher end apartments without co-signors. I know several other gringos that have did the same. Usually you have to find a motivated owner. I am talking nicer apartments. 1.3 million and up. There are two kinds of owners here for these type of rentals....ones that don't care if they rent their apartment and the ones that need the money.

miamimike says on Aug 25, 2007, 04:03: Check neighborhood hospitals, often neighborhood locals place small ads near the cafeteria. Sounds crazy but it works. Many times the desk clerk at the main desk also may know of apartments for rent. They rent to the families who are visiting patients. "Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." -- Feb. 28, 2008 --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
