hi, my name is Dilia i am an adoptee from Medeliin Colombia and im in search of my mother Mariela Echeverri Atehortua- she is believed to be living in Bogota right now and is of the age around 66-68. We were seperated around October 1981. I just wanted to know if anyone knows the origianl name of HOSPITAL GENERAL DE MEDELLIN LUZ CASTRO DE GUTIERREZ, and how to access birth records from there. and anyone knows mariella- thank you take care Dilia - yo9u can add me to IM if you like.

Dilia, I used to look some info for adoptees Colombians in same situation. Some ideas:

1.The info about the origin of the Hospital is available here:

The former name was Clinica de Maternidad de Medellin Luz Castro that changed to the actual name in 1974.

2. The children (adopted) have the right of knowing mothers identity after/since they are18 yers old. You could use this right througt the icbf
