How are the Hospitals in Cali?

I am sure they are fine but I was wondering how the medical attention is in Cali.. Going next week and I have the worst Panic attacks!!! I take medication, rarely but sometimes need medical attention.. So i was wondering if i would have any trouble going to a doctor there?

my neighbor Viviana is a paramedic nurse she works for EMI which is a private medical emergency service here in Cali.i just called her and she said that if you have panic attack you can call her at her cell phone 315-517-7770 or you can join the plan at 653-0404.its only 15,000 pesos per month.

Who cares what it covers. She'll come over and "revive" you. How can you beat that for 15000 pesos?

jaja...exactly utc...who cares what it covers for 15,000 pesos per month you call the emergency line(653-1313)and the nurse and a Doctor come to your door.its only for emergencies.with the EMI plan a non-emergency Doctors visit is only 3,000 pesos.if you want the Doctor to come to your house the non-emergency visit is 10,000 pesos.i also have the government health insurance plan "EPS" which is 50,000 pesos per month.

mecca you do not qualify for the government plan because you do not have a "Cedula De Extranjeria".but you can get "prepaid" insurance no problem, with just your passport and a copy of your insurance card from the U.S.prepaid insurance is better than the government plan.it covers everything and you can go to the best clinics/hospitals/doctors.on the government plan you go to the assigned clinics/hospitals/doctors.prepaid insurance with "Coomeva" is 173,000 pesos per month,if you are under 60 years old.

I was just reading that amusement myself: Panic attacks........traveling to Cali.
It just doesn't sound like a good idea.
Sounds a bit like tying to mix oil and water.

But, maybe if you were ever up against problems, it would work in your favor. Somewhat like Elmo saying if you were accosted by the FARC and yell at their commandant: "Go F*ck Yourself!!!" ....they probably would let that crazy bastard go! jejje.

So? njtea5,... How did it go?

Where do we go from here?
