Lots of very qualified Colombians are in that business already and have the home-court advantage.

Now that I think of it, my comment applies equally to security and the escort business.

Taxi's are a booming business. A lot of Colombians cannot raise the capital and financing for one reason or the other. Buy yourself a taxi and hire a local to do the driving. You would get good cash flow the very first day in business!

You would probably need four taxi's to actually make a decent living. You would also need a native Colombian that you could trust to micromanage the details. I married one...jejeje

lp..do you think there would be any $$$ left over after the hac took his mandatory cut? my best friends (and i'm not being facietious) always have their hand in the action when the moola goes around. why should a hac be any different.

as for security...don't plan on reinventing the wheel...there are security organizations, both public and private (espaldas) that have functioned for years...even before pablo's crime reign.

peter's idea is sensible and doable. pick areas that aren't already taken up and where you won't need lots of money to get up and running. use the pbh board to flog your locale and services.

good luck with your dreams.

My colombian brother-in-law has a deal like that. He is basically a slave to his inability or unwillingness to save so that he can buy his own cab. He feels that with four cabs one could make a nice independent living. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I have an idea -- talk all the gringo's into getting a nipple pierced with a RFID chip so you can track them via satellite. If they get kidnapped you can tell the families where to send the check. Charge them by the month accept only cash.
