Houses -- not apartments

Hi, it is I again. I check in El Tiempo and Metro Cuadrado almost daily and there seems to be a great number of real estate companies who deal with sale of apartments. My husband and I would like a house with a tiny garden and maybe space for a dog to run. Is this possible in Bogota nowadays that the city has been built from side to side? Do you know of any good real estate or website where I can see houses in construction or undergoing projects. I could put the money down for a house that's going to be finished next year or so.
Thank you!

Houses with land... are found in Chia. Chia is in the outskirts of Bogota. I've noticed that Chia is growing with nice homes and seem to have great big yards. In metro cuadrado specify resto del pais, or fuera de Bogota.

In the Belmira neighborhood (between Calle 140-147 and Carrera 7-9) I've seen some really nice houses with external spaces. Yeah, Chia's nice if you don't mind living VERY far away from where all the city action is.

Two neighborhoods Look around Usaquen and Santa Ana. There are a lot of really nice houses there. Be prepared to pay a fair amount.

Why a new house? If you want to buy a house in any big city and want new you're going to have one hell of an uphill battle just finding anything, AND you're going to end up paying through the ass too!

I'm personally looking to go the other way. I want to find something thats falling apart on an otherwise good block and completely gut it and renovate it :)

houses in Chia There is a company building a lot in Chia, gorgeous houses, with a bit of land, when I say a bit I mean around 100sq feet. Which in bogota is unheard of, unless you are trying to go for a 400 million or up house. These houses in Chia are beautiful 3bdr houses, usable attic, 2 full bathrooms upstairs, one half bathroom downstairs, living room and dining room with sliding door. Great large windows, it is a gated community with celadores (doorman, more like guards), and chia is still a small safe town. Price varies depending on square footage, but prices range from 150 million to 180 million. The company is called Constructora Barandillas, as usual Colombia lags behind in websites. But if you need more info, let me know.

Thanks! colombiabusiness: thanks for the info. Those houses in Chia you mention sound like my kind of house. We are willing to pay up to 300,000,000. I will check with the Constructora when I go for a quick visit in September.
Miamimike: thanks for the info you too but at the moment we are just checking out the market. We won't be actually moving until July 2006.
