Household items to bring to Colombia

So there I was, slowly taking shit down, pictures, articles, etc. off the wall of my tiny dark basement office behind the boiler in anticipation of my return to Barranquilla.
Over the years I collected a number of tools both rechargable battery and 120 volt. One item I used often at work but I can’t take with me, it belongs to the company is my beloved Roto Rooter snake. That baby has unclogged the worsts clogged fokin toilet I encounter, it has never let me down
I’m not thinking too much about the prices of items and chit but the availability and whether is worth to bring it or just buy it there, if I find it.
My main concern is sheets.
My sheets and pillows have to be 1000 thread count and I much prefer Arabian fabric which I find in Macys. My black ass has to be wrapped in cool smooth silky Egyptian cotton or nothing at all, sorry!
I also don’t wanna end up with them thar flowery design chit either, very common in colombia, I prefer solid color with maybe a line or two.

it's hard enough finding that kind of thread count in the US... but if you say Macy's has it, I'll try looking there.

Man JD, I’m bringing so much chit I’m gonna have to come back just to pick up more chit. These next few trips to Colombia I’m gonna be traveling like a real spic, with boxes and big ass luggage and duffel bags. Chit, I’m even sticking a 32 inch flat screen TV inside my luggage.
Maybe after I’m settled in and have all the chit I need in Curramba then during a trip back from USA I’ll be able to bring chit for you guys.

I spoke with a couple of pbher's live about moving my belongings here and decided against a container.

In about 6 back and forth trips I used 3 huge suitcases on each trip and you would be surprised how much stuff I was able to bring in this way.

I then made one mistake by sending 30 big boxes by Servientrega. Only 27 made it. Servientrega is for sending one box at a time and that way your stuff won't 'disappear'.

The big stuff I either sold or gave away and bought new here in Bogota.

I miss my 5 foot telescope with 12" mirror but it would not be of much use in Bogota.

One regret was not bringing my rare book collection and a huge amount of JFK memorabilia.

All in all, cost me about $2500 to move here.

Macys, Egyptian combed cotton. I took one in my luggage and one I sent through US mail. The sheets in Medallo SUK.

You are smart to bring things down as not everything you want is available - as you already know. I got two huge suitacses and started bringng stuff down my second trip 2 years ago. Came down full, returned empty, 12 times. now I got too much chit.
