billy We were there last summer, this is why he wants to stay in hotels and rent a finca, even though they all have gorgeous places. All of my family want to visit and party hard. Yes it is a bit much for him. Yes they are brutal, They 'all' want to come and they arrive with aguardiente or rum and the party starts. We are more on the quit side.
Thanks webmanco, for the pics. We want to hang around Rionegro first to check for fincas to rent like in Llano Grande. I can`t find the addresses of the hotels there and he wants something kind of private. I heard of one that have privet cabanas. Nothing in the towns please.
We will be there for 2 months.

is 5 minutes from Aeropuerto Internacional José Maria Córdova in Rio Negro. Many tourist things to do in the area: Tutucan - Show case of a Traditional Antioquian Village, El Penol is great and eat your Wheaties - 700 stairs to the top is tiring but the view is amazing. You can go horseback riding in the area, hiking, or go boating at the lake. Rio Negro has a nightlife - restarants and bars but the main action is in Medellin.

Thanks eman WOW!, La Hosteria is beautiful. The thing is we are not going to tour, we have a mission. So we are going to have to stay in a hotel until we find a finca for rent, and then find land or a finca to buy.
My brothers have 'fincas' in El Penol, San Jeronimo, Rionegro, Santa Elena, Fredonia. We will visit sometimes, but will be busy looking for a place to live in the future. I even have and apt in Medellin. but Medellin is not where we want to live.
