Hotels Try Charlotte in Cartagena ($47 usd); Lord Pierre in San Andres is ok too and although I cannot remember the price, you can choose from several options.

Charlotte is not in the Old city though.

I have a English friend in Ctg who is converting a small building into a hotel, I think the rooms are going to be about $50 a day, its not due to finished for a few months yet though.

Thanks everyone!

I don't seem to have access to the Caribenet pages from work, so I'll have to take a look from home this weekend.

Hunter, I don't think I'll have time to try your friend's hotel in Cartagena, because I'm trying to travel there in early October. Thanks anyway!

Any ideas for Providencia?

Hotel in the old city
When I was there last, I saw a hotel in the old city, not far from santo domingo square for less than $50 per night. It was quite nice.

I think it was called Hotel Centro but I can't be sure.

You can always try the motels, they should be cheap.

Providencia On Providencia we really liked Cabanas El Recreo right on the water. For lots of info on San Andres search for the yahoo group "Big Juices San Andres Island"

any other suggestions? We lost the reservation to the apartment I usually rent in the old city. NOw I need to find an ok place for 2 weeks in December. Any other suggestions????? Hotels or apartments? Anyone know people who rent out differnt places. The lady I work with just screwed us over giving the reservation to someone else. But its convenient to have someone like her that knows of different apartments in the area.
