Hotel Rates in Cali

Greetings all: just getting through the massive snow storm in NYC...tedious work but nonetheless beautiful to the eye!!!

Anyway, just wanted to find the what the typical rates are for a stay in a hotel in Cali. Not looking to stay in a pricey hotel but rather in a clean, safe, centralized, hot-water ready hotel.

Thanks for your suggestions.

If you stay away from the Royal and Inter-Continental, the prices should be reasonable. On my next visit to Cali, I will be staying at Aparta hotel del rio. This is what I have been told by a few folks that live in Cali about this hotel.

It is clean and safe and has reasonable rates. You will be about 10 minutes walk or a 5,000 peso taxi ride to the section of town called Granada where there are great restaurants and night life. Also, you are the same distance from the Chipichapi mall. The rooms range from about $35-$75.

There has been a few threads about hotels in Cali here. Search for Cali hotel and you should get some info.

hotels On my 5 previous visits, i've stayed at intercontinental where if you reserve the rooms 2-3 wks in advance, can be had for 65-70 us dollars. For the service and locations i would highly recommend. I will be traveling jan 28-31 and will be trying the new Four Points by Sheraton hotel. It is newly renovated as of Dec 2004 and for $66 us per night you can get a queen bed, free buffet breakfast, and free internet service. I will let you know when I return how hotel is and whether i will be changing my hotel preference for upcoming trips.

go2pr Dont' know if they have a pool or not since website doesn't say...
but forgot to mention a very important fact about Sheraton...they offer FREE transportation shuttle to and from airport. You just give them airline, flight#, and time and they will have a shuttle there for you. That is a nice savings for anyone that has had to pay taxi costs in the past.
