help work visa info

Hi all,
I am off to Panama or Venezuela this fri to finally get my work visa from EAFIT. I am pretty sure they have not given me all the information that i need so I wanted to check with anyone who has had this experience already.

I have been told that I need to translate and validate my degree ad that it must be an original. My degree is a photocopy but I do have a TEFL teaching certificate which is in its original. I am just wonderfing if this certificate is enough, or does it have to be a degree??

I also have been told to take 2 recent photos, and a valid passport.

Obviously I also have to take my contracts and paper from EAFIT.

Is there anything else?????? I really dont feel like getting there only to be told i need more things that I know can't easily get because I dont know the city.

I did a quick search on poor buthappy and someone mentioned a police clearance letter and bill of good health letter??? Is that true?????

If anyone has gone through this any suggestions would be great, as I mentioned before I can't be F.....t with arriving there and being surprised by new documents that I need to get this paper.

thanks

You need the degree as far as I know, but you never know what can happen at those embassies in Venezuela or Panama. Bribing can sometimes help you there. These were the requirements for Boston and in general....

Work Visa (TT)
Requirements:

2. Two (2) passport copies. plain copies please.
3. Visa application form duly signed and filled out in duplicate.
4. Three (3) colored passport-type pictures (2"x2").
5. Original work contract with both signatures notarized.
6. Certificate of Goodwill of the company, notarized and Apostilled.
7. Legalized and Apostilled copy of the university diploma.
9. Letter from the Colombian company stating the name and position of the applicant, detailed purpose of trip, and company's compromise to assume full financial responsibility for the traveler expenses, including his return to the country of origin or last country of residence. This letter must notarized and apostilled.
10.Certificate " Certificado de Proporcionalidad" issued by the Colombian "Ministerio del Trabajo", stating that the ratio of national and foreign workers has been duly respected.
11. Health Certificate showing that applicant has been vaccinated against yellow fever. This certificate is required ONLY if the applicant is traveling to any of the following Departamentos (States) in Colombia: Amazonas, Antioquia, Arauca, Bolívar, Boyacá, Casanare, Caqueta, Cauca, Guaviare, Magdalena, Meta, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Santander, Vaupés or Vichada.

• All the documents in English must be translated into Spanish

Hope this helps.

The link above is the best I have seen on this site. I had the same experience above. Go to Ven., but get there very early on the morning. Remember, they are a half an hour behind us.
