Help with places to stay in the Cartagena area

Can someone please recommend a hotel in the Cartagena area, that will allow me to get in to the city in short order but is not 100 dollars a night. Single, guy looking to explore the city and country and meet people.

Hotel San Martin. Fantastic hotel that have just stayed in last week, excellent service in Bocagrande. 15 mins walk to centre or 5 mins in taxi. Flat screen tvs with cable, air conditioning, cheap minibar, wireless and free internet in the lobby. Price includes buffet breakfast- not the BEST, but certainly not bad either. Check out website here and call direct for a reservation. Nice surprise that the hotel looked just as good as in the photos, if not better!

I was comfortable at http://www.pietro.com/english/index.htm

It's in the tourist area of Bocagrande, not far from the beach, maybe 10-15 minutes from Centro, by taxi.

I had a "special" Expedia rate of about $65 for an upgraded room with WiFi internet, last October.

There is a nice Italian/pizza restaurant on the ground floor. nice people too.

They also arranged a trip to Islas Rosario, and the guide even picked me up in taxi.

I like Casa Relax. Nice pool. Close to everything. In Getsemani. Cab cost $4 to go anywhere in Catagena. I believe it's on Calle de Pozo. About 6 blocks long. They have anything you want. It's around $65 a day.

Lisa Dee,
Just wondering if the Hotel San Martin has hot water in the shower. Looks really nice.
Thanks

Air conditioned rooms (although the lobby is not air conditioned), hot water, elementary English is spoken by one of the front desk clerks, very friendly and helpful staff, free access to computer with internet in the lobby, and they'll help you arrange excursions to the islands. Just Say No to the free trip to "Isla Tierra Bomba" though. It sucks. Gator recommended this hotel to me and I'm glad he did!
