Help!!!! Medellin Hotspots....

Ok everybody, any advice here would me much appreciated....

Im 20 and going to Medellin in March. Please help me out here with some spots I should hitup. From what Ive read, I dont want to stick around Parque Lleras and Poblado all the time. What are some good spots to hit up where I can find non-rich stuck up people. Which malls are good for this?

Also, I do want to stay in a nice hotel. Ive heard good things about Dann Carlton, where can I get the best rates there?? Are there other hotels closer to the action I should seriously considered. Will be there for 10 days, half the time in Manizales to meet a girl. I speak a bit of Spanish, but do realize its hilarious to listen to for a native speaker.

Thanks Everybody!

Of course it's hilarious to listen to but don't underestimate its power. My wife can barely speak English but whenever she says something in English, I want to rip her panties off, she's so damm cute! Believe me, it works the same in reverse for a gringo with the Colombianas.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

What else to visit So, while in Medellin don´t miss these interesting places:

- Museo de Antioquia and Plaza Botero: located in the downtown area, take the metro and get off at Parque Berrio Station. Visit the Museum and walk around the Plaza Botero and admire the huge bronze statues
- Go to the Nutibara Hill: located in the middle of the city, from up there you have a great view of all the city, plus you can drink some coffee at the Pueblito Paisa
- Go to Parque Lleras friday and saturday night, it´s really interesting, it´s overcrowded with young people, everybody is having fun , eating, drinking, it´s interesting
- Visit El Tesoro Mall for another great view of the city
- Party at some of Parque Lleras clubs and Las Palmas clubs

Other interesting malls:
- Oviedo: also in el Poblado but much bigger than El Tesoro, lots of shops, cinemas, small restaurants
- Unicentro: in Laureles, another large Mall, lots of people go there, less "stuck up" than in El Poblado
- If you´re feeling adventurous and ONLY IF you have a colombian friend to go with you, try going to El Hueco area and specially the Palacio Nacional Mall. It´s a beautiful structure turned into a small shop Mall.
- Walk in the downtown area along Junin Avenue, the pedestrian part of it between La Playa Avenue and Parque Bolivar.

Hotels:

The hotels located in el Poblado are the most expensive, for cheaper options try the small hotels located along La 70 Avenue in the Estadio area, Unicentro Mall is near to that area. Also, you have a metro station close by (Estadio Station).
