Help me with my Itinerary!!!

I plan to go to Colombia for three weeks and would like to see the most of the major cities as possible. I am purchasing an Airpass from Avianca from 4 cities and those are; Arrive Bogota, fly to Cali, Medellin, Cartagena and back to Bogota.

I plan to include Feria de Las Flores on my trip. I can't decide on the amount of days to spend on those 3 cities. I was thinking about spending 2 nights in Cali, probaly 4 in Medellin (Feria de Flores) 4 in Cartagena (two nights and then go to Barranquilla for the last two nights and drive back to Cartagena to catch flight back to Bogota)

Any of you have any other recommendations? So far I am thinking of spending 2 days in Cali from what I have read and learned here. Can't miss Feria de Flores but would like to know which days are the best to go for... last days or middle? (Should I spend more time in Medellin during that time?) Are there special parties and dances? Cartagena and Barranquilla I have settle on 4 nights.

Thanks!!!

Unless my addition is not correct or you left out something, it adds up to about 2 weeks not 3.

How many days are you leaving for Bogotá?

For Bogota im leaving the rest of the time. If recommended I can add more days to other cities by taking away from Bogota.

if I were to do that trip I would also do Cali for 4 days and plan a bus trip to the coffee region, Armenia, Pereira, Manizales.

furthermore adding to lionheart's comments if you do do Cali you can road it northwards towards el eje cafetero.....you;ll enter quindio after 3 hours....armenia to pereira is less than an hour and pereira to manizales is a few hours more....just thought i'd mention that Quindio is catching up fast with the north coast as the most popular tourist destination (a lot of welathy Colombians are choosing to while away their holidays in Quindio)

Is it easier to go to EJE CAFETERO from Bogota? I could possibly add two more days to Cali, that's why I need help from those that have traveled or lived in Cali.

Thanks ahead of time!!!

Chapin if you are doing side trips there are plenty within a few hours by flota of Bogotá. Juanalejo might be able to elaborate on a few of the "must sees" in the vicinity of Bogotá.

My next trip will be three weeks just in and around Bogotá, and I don't think I will be bored.

why exactly do you only want to visit the cities? Just curious?

I recommend the Coffee region as well but if you don't like nature and enjoy the hustle bustle of the big city there is plenty to keep you busy in the cities over three weeks.

My personal recommendation for a 3 week trip would be
2 days bogota (visit Zipa)
1 Villa de Lleyva
3 San Gil/Barichara
3 Parque Tyrona
3 Cartagena
4 Medellion (feria flores)
2 Coffee region
back to bogota

leaves a few days to spare for travel.

Its a safe trip and one I would recommend for someone not to adventurous on their first trip to Colombia.

but im a small town, nature loving kind of guy

In cali well, if you are coming over to cali, i would recommend it to be on a weekend if possible since this ia colombia's party capital, if you need any help booking an hotel or anything I work as an interpreter here I've lived here all my life and can pretty much know the place, so if anything ring me up. The coffee plantation area is really nice too, it is around a 3 hours drive from here, cartagena is a definite must, what are your interest when you travel? history?, sightseeing? partying?, good luck with everything!

I don't know much about hotels in Barranquilla or Cali. There seems to be a lot of info on Medellin Hotels on the posts here. If someone can help with the those two cities?

Is most of the nightlife in Cartagena in the old city? (Trance, Salsa)
Thanks
