Help me!!! Indian national wanting to marry a Colombian national in Colombai

Hi friends,
My name is Noble, I was born in India, Mumbai and after 25 years I found my TRUE LOVE in Dubai a Colombian National, I love her more than my life and want to start a life with my angel, but she had to go back to Colombia and I moved to the UK. I am visiting her for christmas and I want to ask her parents for our marriage. And I want to surprise her... As I am an indian I know I require a lot of documentation and I want to take her to the UK where we start our new life.
MY QUESTIONS
Can I get married in Colombia?( I have only 1 week)
What are the documents I need to get married in Colombia?
Do I have to put a advertisement in local newspaper?
Do I have to do a church marriage or a court marriage?
My Colombian Friends!!! who are reading this your help will be appreciated.
kind regards
Noble

Good luck! I'm going to Colombia in january also to get married. You should take a look to this web site:

http://bogota.usembassy.gov/wwwsmare.shtml

Those are the papers most nationalities need (birth certificate, certificado de solteria and everything should have an apostille). I recommend you to take contact with a notary now, because it can take time to get married in the notary.Your fiance has also to send papers in at least one month before you get married. So I think you should reconsider your "surprise"

Good luck

First!!!!!!!!! 1 Can I get married in Colombia?( I have only 1 week)
It can be done with planning
2 What are the documents I need to get married in Colombia?
see my below advice
3 Do I have to put a advertisement in local newspaper?
No
4 Do I have to do a church marriage or a court marriage?
It's up to you and her.

Since she is back in Colombia find a notary in Colombia where she whats the ceremony conducted. Determine from THAT notary EAACTLY what will be required. Then follow the notary's wishes.

If It is to be a catholic church wedding then have her visit one of the priest at the church she would like to use. Explain the situation to him and follow his advice. If it is a Catholic Church wedding the notary is out of the picture except to register the wedding with him or her-this has to be done to make the marriage recognizable IN COLOMBIA.

This will save you and her a lot of running around.

"Credidi pretio parvo emere et magno vendere tibi in animo fuisse!" .

Just to get married as a start, you could get married on San Andres. It is a Colombian territory or department. They only require your passport, and her (Colombian's) cedula and RECENT copy of birth certificate showing no current "married" status. It is easy compared to the mainland, but is 100% legal and recognized internationally as a legit marriage.

I married in the notaria 41 in bogota. It was one of the few that could do it just a few days after giving them the documents. Most of the other notarias required at least 3 month to process the documentation.
