Help if you know.

One friend of mine, she is British came to Bogota to married her colombian fiancé. And well guess what had happend? DAS didnt extended her visa and now she have to come back to England and again come to Colombia.
I am asking if anyone knows if is better to use UK passport or EU passport.

Post Was Not Real Clear.... but is she wanting to reenter on the EU passport because she over stayed the UK passport?

Hopefully some else will jump in but as I understand it the EU passport only facilitates movement with the EU Community and I would strongly suggest she check with a Colombian consulate or the embassy in London

This girl is British, they gave her a stamp for 30 days on the airport. She and her boyfriend tried to do the paperworks for getting married during this time. It wasnt enough so she went to DAS and they didnt give her another stamp for staying more days.
Well every one was surprised, and now she is comming back to the England.
And me i am not Slovenian, I am from Slovakia - Slovak republic.
And for colombia i dont need visa for 180 days but this is not for sure as you see this girl. This depend on the DAS officer.
Thank you

What You Get In... your passport IS a tourist visa. It is good for a maximum stay of 180 days a year from the date of first entry into Colombia. If she is going to come back to Colombia to marry, I assume, there is really no reason she should not have received at least 60 days unless she did not request anything upon entry-then the time will be likely the "standard" 30 days.

I would suggest she get most of the basic arrangement for the marriage firmed up BEFORE departing to Colombia.

Good luck.

What to request if you want 60 days ? What to say / do on entry to get sure you get 60-days instead of the standard 30-days ?

Personally, I... would just tell the DAS man at the airport the truth. I need at least 60 days, big smile but 90 would be better, because I am going to marry in Colombia. I need the time to complete our plans and, with an even bigger smile and wink, to prepare for the honeymoon.

At the airport, DAS will give you 60 days.. as GATOR said. i asked for 90 but they said 60, then simply go and get and extension. be VERY careful about getting you extension BEFORE the 60 day is up, i was 5 days late i got fined 180k peso. When you apply for an extension it cost another 34k(i think this is the monthly cost for extensions.

BTW, DONT show them your return ticket at the Airport DAS counter(since i flew electronic, i didn't have a paper copy of my ticket anyway), they MAY(happen to 2 american i knew) give you a visa for ONLY your return date, so if your return date is 2 week, you get 2 weeks. THEN you have to go to DAS in that two weeks.
