Help getting from Medellin to Pereira...Bus routes etc

I am planing a trip to Medellin but also need to get to Pereira.

How long does it take by bus?

How much does it cost?

How often do they run?

What is the bus companies name?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It takes about 5 hours... you go to the Terminal del Sur in Medellin(there's another one in el Norte, but those are for routes towards the coast and Bogota) and buses run about every hour so nothing to worry about. The cost should be somewhere around $25000 COP ($11 USD), and as for the companies I don't remember names but once you get to the Terminal take a look at the buses before buying the ticket, or ask the person at the window to show you what bus you would be taking. Mini-vans seem to be used more and more frequently for that route, not as comfortable as the big busses but quicker.

En bus a pereira What you should do is sing the song "Smooth Operator" by Sade *all* the way, with a Spanish accent, with the words "En bus a pereira". ;)

Poor but snappy

8 Passenger Car!! The South Terminal Bus Station in Medellin is approximately 10 minutes from Poblado and it is MUCH different then bus stations in the states. Very nice and clean with nice shops, eateries, and clothing stores.

At one end of the building are the vans, different cars as well as taxis. I used PROFESIONALES TRANSPORTE - Telefonos: (57)(4)3632501
It costs 33,000 pesos per person and makes 1 stop for breakfast/restroom. It leaves at 6:45 in the morning and is a nice car, 2 passengers up front, 3 in the middle, and 3 in the back.

Flota Ospina specializes in Eje Caffetero and has many options - big vans, small vans, cars, and taxis:

There website is:

Good luck!!!
