Help from the Salsa Experts

Maybe Gomezman, Platano, Rubiazo or another one of our resident Salsa experts can help me with this.

There is a song by Joe Arroyo that talks about how the Spaniards abused the African slaves back in Cartagena, it is NOT "La Rebelion" (it is actually even better in my opinion). The chorus goes something like this:

"Espaňol, tu le diste duro al negro.."

Then the gancho goes:

"Raza blanca
que mal trato
a mi gente que del Africa llego"...

I have been looking for this song for the past few weeks but I don't even know what it is called....

Español, tu le diste duro al negro

Duro al negro

Sin razón tu ira con el descargastes

Dale duro eh

Without reason you unleashed your fury on them]

Tiranos del alma dura

Los negros vivian felices

Hallaron su desventura

Los negros fueron testigo de esos desastrozos viajes

The blacks were living happily, but they found misfortune.

Black people were witnesses to those horrendous journeys.

They arrived to Cartagena in chains.]

De corazón negra

Azote duro le diste en calles de Cartagena

Whipped the slaves in the streets of Cartagena.

That’s how you paid them;

Finishing off the old blacks.]

Amarrados con cadenas

Ahí lideraron su batalla

[The slaves constructed the walls of my beautiful Cartagena

while they were tied in chains.

And there they rose up in battle.]

Comandados por tiranos

Vestidos con armadura,

Vivieron en Cartagena

Los negros su desventura

[Commanded by the tyrants dressed in armor

The blacks lived their misfortune in Cartagena]

Juanes live from the European Parliament! April 19, 12:45 P.M.

Juanes makes the European Parliament to dance to the rhythm of “ La camisa Negra”
He thanked the President for the 2.5 million euros granted to help mine victims in Colombia.

Since we are talking about Joe Arroyo, Juanes mentioned Joe Arroyo at the Parliament and he sang Joe’s song “La noche”
When Juanes finished, the Parliament in an unanimously decision cried out, “Otra! Otra!…Otra! Juanes is therefore live singing another song.

Entrega simbólica para combatir la minas en Colombia This is what Caracol TV said about Juanes in Brussels, Belgium.

Entrega simbólica para combatir la minas en Colombia...
Histórica presentación. Juanes se tomó el Parlamento Europeo y los puso a cantar.
La ayuda de 2.5 milliones de euros es para la lucha contra las minas antipersonales.

Nada? The U.S. consumes ~40-50% of the world's cocaine, donates close to a billion USD per year (Plan Colombia plus all the other things) and what do we get? Nada!

You get a free trade agreement where you guys get the long end of the stick.

Hey Colombiche I was looking for something in a past thread that I thought you authored. Then I say this one. You asked for me to participate, but I think that was during a period I was taking a break (giving everone else one too) from this board.

Anyway, I have this CD of song on several CDs. However, it was originally recorded on the CD:

"Deja Que Te Cante".

You should have no problem finding it. That entire CD is very powerfull.....
