I'm going to be in Bogota tomorrow. BUT i notice that for the next 4 -5 day forcast, it is raining!!! So what places do people recommend NOT to visit when it's raining, ie outdoor tourist site versus indoor. I plan to go to the muesums and such that are indoor. Is the nightlife(club, bars, restaurant, etc.,) a little slow due to the rain? Also, does Bogota have musicals? Like broadway? Or even opera?

Mr. Hollywood says on Nov 12, 2004, 12:00: Rain is no big deal Caslug, Bogota is like Seattle. It's always raining here in some degree. Nothing will change. Go have fun. Buy a 15,000 peso umbrella on the street and get crazy. There's a nightlife guide called Plan B that contains all the theatre, concerts, art openings, etc.

kernow62 says on Nov 12, 2004, 13:20: no such thing as a weather forecast in Bogota it is just a guess. If you pay attention to the forecasts they are always the same, and then look at the part that shows what yesterday was like and that is the actual weather. Usually they post something like 67-43 degrees F and rainy. I don't think weather forecasting is taken seriously in Bogota.

litost says on Nov 12, 2004, 18:56: I lived in Bogota for 4 years, it's not as grey or rainy as most make it out to be... sure, there will be some days or weeks with little sunshine, but then there will be many amazing days with not only sun but also a vey comfortable temperature to be outside. I've heard that it's been particularly cold and rainy lately, that's common in this time of year and it should improve in december towards january. But even in the "rainy" season you wil get a good dose of "el mono"... just remembered an expression for when the sun comes out "salio el mono" which means "the blond one came out" ;P

caslug says on Nov 15, 2004, 12:05: in bogota... finally got to bogota this weekend, and the rain wasn´t bad until today. Went down to Plaza de Bolivar to take the tourist pictures, when it came down really heavy. I´ll post some picture as soon as i figure out how to reduce the size. So far I like bogota more than cali, it has a big city feel to it, that i like.
