Help, I need to find a ticket to Cali for December

I would appreciate any information on websites or other locations where I can find cheap tickets to Cali. I know they are not going to be ''cheap" but any discount will help.

At this point in time, good luck in getting A ticket, much less getting some discount. December is expensive and difficult to get a ticket to get into Colombia same goes for January getting out.

Juanalejo is right, getting out of Cali is almost impossible until Jan 23 unless you buy right now and you won't get a discount.

Maybe you should change your plans for November. I just checked for T-Day flights from Houston and you can still go at that time for $658. Houston/Cali. but, they are going to Colombia later than used to: leaving Houston now (then) at 5:30pm....arriving (due to time difference) at 11:30..pm. si, direct flight.

just a couple of thoughts,
1. check with your airlines everyday to see if someone has cancelled, if so snatch up that ticket fast.
2. check on ebay, sometimes people sell their tickets there.
3. ask this site and others to keep their eyes open for you and if they hear something to contact you.
4. check all the airlines and connecting airlines, maybe you can go the long way around.

there are flights for around 500 dollars with a change of planes in Bogota. slightly more for the few direct flights.

these flights originate out of Miami.

I have found Avianca and other carriers offer slightly lower prices than American Airlines.

these are for early to mid december dates with travel on tuesdays and thursdays.

travel on saturdays and sundays increases the price on Avianca about 50 dollars

I hope Spirit Air starts service to Bogota and offers cheap fares.

then, you could get one of the cheap fares to Bogota and take the 11 hour bus ride to Cali for an extra 25 dollars or the Avianca flight to Cali for about 125 dollars.

out of newark, the price is around 600 dollars.

out of places like texas or chicago, you are looking at around or slightly less than 700 dollars.

this is about as low as you will find.

I have not found the cheap 300 dollar, or less, tickets to Colombia you can often find to places like Costa Rica.

It will take an airline like Spirit Air to start service to Colombia to lower prices.

Sometimes, Spirit offers fare sales to other central american countries for less than 100 dollars including taxes.

the problem with December in Cali is that every caleno and calena in the world wants to go home.

and hotel rooms?

jesus, you better reserve now if you do not have family or friends to stay with. Cali is a zoo in the central district in December. the streets are packed.

American is reopening its Miami - Barranquilla route in December plus adding a few flights a week to both Bogotá and Medellín. Avianca is adding increasing its LA - Bogota plus its JFK - Barranquilla - Pereira and its Miami - Cartagena - Pereira. In addition Aires, a regional airline will begin operations between Bogota and Fort Lauderdale before Christmas and Spirit to Cartagena and maybe Barranquilla also before Christmas, and last Aerocivil and FAA are supposed to finish negotiations by end of September to increase frecuencies between the two countries as of what Aerocivil has asked for 97 additional frecuencies a week, so in conclusion maybe tickets maybe not be as expensive this coming Christmas.

I'm in the same boat as you Adidas, and I have my travel agent looking. In the past, no matter what I've found on the web, she's always been able to beat the price. However, keep in mind that I always travel during high peak. In the past Avianca has added night flights from NY to Cali during the Christmas rush. I'm holding out for that, I called Avianca and was told it could be any day that those flights are added. If you time it right you could get a good price.
