HELP! Anyone know anything about Puente Largo in northern Bogota?

I am moving to Bogota in 2 months and was offered an apartment in Puente Largo sector of Northern Bogota. Anyone know if this is a neighborhood with a good mix of people, things to do, good access to transportation, etc. Thumbs up or thumbs down? Any info people could give me would be really helpful. I'm not looking for a real yuppie area but safety is important to me.

Thumbs up It is located in the municipality of Suba,

In the southeast part of the Municipality other neighborhoods in the zone are Niza, Las Villas y Bulevar, Andes, La Floresta, Puente Largo, Santa Rosa, San Nicolás, Morato, La Alhambra, Niza, Córdoba, Las Villas, Calatrava, Casablanca, Prado Veraniego y Mazurén

There is another neighborhood with a name alike, Puente Ilarco, I guess Puente Largo is more towards Pasadena, it is nice and yes there are many things to do, for transportation, Puente Largo is nearby Avenida Suba with Transmilenio routes. Puente Largo is in the middle of at least 4 main roads, Calle 100, calle 106, Autopista Norte, Avenida Suba.

Shopping malls nearby, Iserra 100, Niza Boulevar, 3 Elefantes,

IBM has its main offices nearby
IBM de Colombia
Carrera 53
No. 100 - 25
Bogotá - Colombia

Since you will be teaching English up north I would consider looking for an apartment near Tejares del Norte or others neigborhoods near by, on Autopista Norte and 184 there is a brand new and huge shopping mall.

...A yo, déjenme queto y no me jodan má! ...

It Just... got a LOT better since the Transmilenio opened the new Suba line two weeks ago. Before traffic and time was terrible. Nice area kinda away from the hustle and bustle of the "big" city.

It's a decent and safe neighborhood, very residential, with not a lot to do in walking distance, but close enough to the action that a short taxi ride will get you there.
