Hi, I am new to this site and would just like to say hello to all the people on here.
I live in Scotland and have been chatting to a Colombian girl on the internet for 6 months now, we have became good friends and she has invited me to Colombia for a holiday, to stay with her family in Bogota.
Since we started chatting I have became really interested in visiting Colombia,it looks like an amazing country.
I have been checking out loads of web sites and this is the one with the best information.
Anyway, I am just hoping to make some friends on here who I can ask some questions regarding various subjects on travel to Colombia, and who can share with me there experiences of what looks to be a beautiful country.
Hope to hear from some of you.
Cheers Stu

Desideria (Moderator) (Trustee board) says on May 22, 2005, 02:39: technically, no stuart (welcome to PBH) since the word "gringo" is mainly used when referring to a North American (US or Canadian), but lots of people in Colombia will be calling you a gringo nevertheless. As long as you speak English and look foreigner you'll be a gringo. Nothing to worry about it, it's not derogative. "When shall we three meet again? 2retirensa says on May 22, 2005, 09:16: yes, macgringo, it is that good It's good enough I am marrying a Colombiano and moving to a smaller city about 3 hours outside of Cali(armenia). I am retiring there, so income issues are not a problem. A good number of people are moving or planning on a move in the future.

Lionheart says on May 23, 2005, 13:27: not Colombian, a US/European mutt living currently in USA I run an Internet radio station with DJs scattered around the planet. Basically anybody with a decent broadband connection can be a DJ from home nowadays. I am still looking for a DJ living in Colombia ... I got the Colombian metal and rock lined up, I need somebody to introduce the bands in Spanish and English. I already have a heavy metal gal in Sao Paolo introducing Brazilean bands in Portuguese.

jamespereira says on May 23, 2005, 16:49: I'm a full New Yorker born on the island of Manhattan and I went to Colombia 2 years ago for the first time, and let me tell you it was the time of my life. I was having so much fun that I stayed for 2 months. During this time I visited many cities including Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Pereira and Manizales. You'll find so much to do there my friend and thee'll always be someone to "hang out" with. To tell you the truth, the only thing I liked about Bogota was the bus system and Monserrate (religious tourist mountain). My favorite of all was Medellin and Pereira. In these cities, people are much more friendly and helpful, you could almost feel the warmth of their hearts. Bogota is a cold place compared to Medellin and Pereira, since Bogota is on a mountain peak. I still suggest you go visit Colombia, its a beautiful and great place.
