hello, everyone...

here i am, on line, on location, living in and remembering the colombia i know and love so much...as well, the parts i can do without...

it´s more of a story than i can enter upon now, but as i sit here in this ´hip´internet cafe in rio negro, with music and attractive young colombians around, i just want to say that to those of you who don´t know, or are just learning about colombia. i really pray that this lovely lady, colombia, opens her beauty and secrets to you, as she has to me. a wonder she is, and with care, respect and honesty, she will show herself to you.

there is so much i could share of this visit, but i need time at my own desk/computer to compose. maybe when i get home.

peace,

dwmte

ps....thank you, colombia/colombians

Times change, dear Dwmte An internet cafe in Rionegro! I remember the plaza, with its wonderful statute of José María Córdova, as a great place for some aguardiente. Please enjoy it for those of us who cannot be there.

Hey Douglas......you do have a way with words I wish I was there with you. As I sit in this office on Friday at 6:05 PM, finishing up shit before I can go home, you make me think about my desire to go back to Colombia.

How long are you going to be there? Hey, maybe I'll send you an email soon. In any event, stay safe, don't take any unnecessary risks, and enjoy each day. Enjoy the sites (all types) too.

My best.

Marcos

DWMTE /Medellin You are sooo lucky!!! To be in Medellin (Rionegro) I am a Paisa and love my Antioquia. Although I have lived in the US for over 30 years, and love the US too, I am planning to return and retire in the area. My husband (a native US born) and I (Colombian/US naturalized) will be selling our house in Maryland, and go back to enjoy the pleasures of such a wonderful place. Thank you for sharing such beautiful thoughts and prayers so others can read positive comments about Colombia. Keep them coming!!

maria, marcos, jaramillo, miguel, c rendon, et al.... would that i could send as many nice thoughts to you as you do to me. thank you all so much. marcos, chances? no, no, brother, not with my most precious life. hoy, no!

and maria, thank you as well. yes i love so much tierra paisa... it is so warm and caring, giving and needing...needing our care and love and attention.

wish we could all get together. my wife and daughter stay down the hill in envigado and i stay up the hill in los llanos. mucho mejor and mas calma, cierto? no alli buja (sp) noise... i leave the cities and bars/clubs to the fast laners and youth. give me calm and tranquilidad, poco guaro, a splif or linea, or? y soy muy bien.

i´m way to old to be young and way to damn young to be so old, so the lament is, que acer? las cosas de joventude, o de los viejos? nah! alguna punto dientro los dos...si o no?

saludos a todos, mucho amor a colombia, la gente y la cultura.
