No need for insurance Hello MaG,
I am from Colombia and there is not need for health insurance there. If you are going to be there and get sick if you go to any big city you will find plenty of good hospitals where you can go and it is inexpensive compare with other places around the world.
If you are going to be in Bogota the best two Hospitals are "La Reina Sofia" o "Clinica Santafe". They will give you treatment with only your credit card.
I hope this helps.
