Heads up AA is losing bags

I got into Bogota on Saturday, to bad my bag I checked in did not. It is Monday and I still have not received my bags. I have not been contacted by AA. I was one of about 40-60 who lost there bags. I was given two numbers, in order to get my bags. The first one does not work and the second one just rings.

It seems this has been happening for at least a week. A man on my flight had several bags lost. One of his family members got in Thurseday and as of Saturday no bags. They also have not contacted them. They tried to call and same problem I have.

I saw a AA office on Sunday. I am going there and sit there until I get my bag. Ok, maybe until lunch time.

For those of you coming in. Be prepared. Maybe a carry on with some cloths and junk you may need. If they give you shit, have them call me.

i always cross my fingers.. whenever i check bags. ESPECIALLY on international flights. I usually put stuff that i can afford to have delay, clothes, trinkets, etc., in the check bag. Then i carry on all my valuables, electronic and essentials.

Beware AA in Miami as well as other Airlines flying in and out of Miami. They have caught at least 4 large MIA Employee theft Rings operating practically without impunity in MIA in the last 2 years. The last large group were in actuality, AA Employees. The theft from the Bags occur as soon as they disappear from your sight on that conveyor line after you check them in. Hasta La Vista. One day after the Costa Rican Passenger who they thought was a terrorist and was shot in MIA, a theft of $7.4 Million Dollars was pulled off in connection with MIA-the Money arrived on a plane from Germany at MIA and was transported(MIA Personnel)to a Secure(?) Airport Warehouse and this is where the Cash took leavee of being. The Authorities have rumored it as an inside job. And you guys complain about suitcase and this guy loses $7.4 Million, Caveat Emptor in MIA............

Got my bag I think the plane was to heavy or they had to get the bags from the previous passengers from other flights in. Either case the customer service sucks.

Padrino I had 7.4 million in my bag. Just kidding.

CASLUG what is the name of the hotel you are staying at in Medellin. Do they have a web site. Do they take credit cards.

Thanks,

RUV, if you think AA has Lousy Service, Try Avianca... and the you will truly experience the meaning of "Deplorable Service".
This came across on an Interoffice Mail a few minutes ago on MIA:

"Cargo Security Task Force At MIA Nets $17,500 In Fines
Several Arrested, Fined For Driving Violations
Status;unsecured, all read & initial

POSTED: 1:00 pm EST December 19, 2005, MIAMI -- A two-day multi-agency law enforcement operation conducted by the cargo security task force at Miami International Airport culminated Thursday with the inspection of more than 350 cargo trucks and four commercial airline warehouses that led to numerous arrests, violations and fines, the Department of Homeland Security announced Monday.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection agents, along with other state and local law enforcement officers, intercepted the cargo, which was destined for domestic and international passenger planes.

The inspections led to the arrest of a commercial truck driver who resisted arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Three additional criminal arrests were made for various driving violations.

Four violations of improperly packaged materials were discovered. A fuel truck was taken out of service and removed from the airport for having a severely dangerous fire prevention system, authorities said.

Fifty-two fines totaling about $17,500 were levied for safety and licensing violations, and 19 commercial trucking vehicles were taken out of service. Three individuals were found in violation of immigration law.

"Of utmost concern is anything that is of a safety concern -- any hazardous materials, anything that would put the public in jeopardy," said ICE spokesman Evan Gross. "The next would probably be, of course, narcotics (and) any kind of cash that's trying to be flown out of the country."

The cargo security task force was organized to identify and neutralize potential public and national security threats relating to cargo transported on passenger planes.

El Padrino Avianca is not that good but much better these days, nothing can be worse than AA. Always late, always looses baggage, always huge lines at airport, always bad food, always old planes etc. AA sucks. Unfortunatelly flying in and out of the USA seems to have no better choices. Continental seems fine although 5 hour delay this last weekend and no bags arrived was not exactly something to be proud of. Now if you compare my other friends who were bumped off Delta in Atlanta and arrived in an Avianca charter flight out of New York two days later and still with no bags which arrived from Atlanta the following day. All I can say is that if you live in the NE USA the best alternative is fly to Canada and direct with Air Canada to Bogota.

red boleros I fly Avinca from JFK to MDE non stop. In four round trips I've never had a problem - just every other flight is delayed in taking off but makes up the time in the air before landing. Another problem is accuracy of frequent flier miles with Delta, Avianca's codeshare partner.

The best part is the outfits (red shauls/panchos and red bolero style hats) that the flight attendants wear on their 'march' to the gate. It's real classy and different than any other airline I've ever flown or seen. After they get on the plane the outfits are the usual garb. I'm going in a few weeks and I promise to take photos.
