i was told you can get married in colombia by having someone stand in for you? you write a letter and send your usual paperwork.I guess phyically no need not be there.

I wrote a letter authorizing my gf to act on my behalf... and in the eyes of the Colombian gov't, at least, we are seen as married. However, I am a little concerned if Canadian immigration will see this as valid... so when we go to the notary next week, I will use that date instead of the Sept date... as I think Canadian immigration will recognize this as the actual date of marriage.
