Has any cedula holders been fined for not submitting a change of address to the DAS?

Has any cedula holders been fined for not submitting notice of a change of address to the DAS? I suspect the time frame requirement is 15 days.

It is 15 days, you are right. But is there any reason that DAS knows you moved more than 15 days ago? Can't you just go and claim that you just recently moved?

Well, for starters, the DAS in Bogota had originally entered my correct address, but the wrong city, in the computer system. And now, one particular DAS employee in my state, who is a little crooked, wants to fine me for it.

As for the just moved part....I think it is easy for them to check up on it with a landlord or neighbours if they suspected that one did move more than 15 days ago being that they already have the itch to fine that person.

i was charged over 200.000 for not submitting a change of address....that was four years ago.. the DAS came around and knocked on our apartment door looking for us.. they found us through the university.. id strongly advise everyone to let them know within a month of a changed address....

Thanks Gorgonabob. How long were you in default? I talked to a fellow yesterday who did not know about the 15 day rule for originally registering with the DAS and he was fined over 200k. I wonder if there is a ceiling on the fine for not submitting a timely address change?

i would argue to DAS, showing them article 83/civil code: one person can have multiples residences in Colombia.

Now, if the guy really wants points with his boss, that`s another bussiness

guacharaca , This is a different requirement:
"15 day rule for originally registering with the DAS and he was fined over 200k."

The wife said her sister was fined after a move to a new apartamwnto several years ago.

I realize it was a different rule, but curious if the amount of fine was somehow related. The back of the old cedula does not give a time frame, but I read on the DAS site that employers are required to report a change of address of their employees within 15 days.....so it leads me to believe it is the same for self-reporting.
