Anyone know why Mother's Day falls on a different day in the Americas than in Europe?

not everywhere in Europe It varies widely, but some countries (Finland, for example) have chosen to keep the original date the second Sunday in May. Here in Sweden it always falls on the last Sunday of May, after the payday.
