Well considering that Halloween originated in the British Isles and was brought to the US by immigrants, it doesn't seem so strange that it is celebrated in various countries world wide. Hell, we've got so many frigging Indians here we're starting to celebrate Diwali.

lol Billy, i used to love halloween in Colombia, it was apart from christmas my other favourite day...

Here in the UK halloween sucks, it's so boring and some people so tight... and here they don't think is a kind of a children days, like in Colombia.

Is Colombia really so poor in Traditions that you guys need to import and adopt other Cultures Traditions? ....too bad

La cultura Colombia tiene muchas cosas autóctonas, en que cambio los Estados Unidos adopta las tradiciones que llevan sus inmigrantes.

Además si le parece tan mal eso, que se encuentra haciendo ústed acá todavia?

"The United States is a culture rich with the various global influences bestowed on us by our immigrants. Halloween similarly is a celebration that has evolved from the combination of several different traditions.

The roots of Halloween are unearthed in the rituals of Druids and Celtic priests of pre-Christian Ireland and Scotland. November 1 was the beginning of the new year, so Halloween, or "Samhain," (pronounced "sow'an") was like New Year's Eve. It was both a time of death and new beginnings, of harvest feasting and magic. Crops were harvested and animals who were not expected to survive the winter were slaughtered. Celtics believed that any food left on the vine after October 31 was tainted by the fairies and hence inedible."

Halloween is the funnest event of the year. I'm going to a big birthday halloween bash but to be honest, I miss halloween in my cute little mountain town in Canada where the girls find the smallest costumes that won't get them arrested and everybody eats mushrooms or acid.

Another Halloween come and gone. I had enough candy in generous amounts for 530 kids and I've got enough for about 30 left. So we had roughly 500 kids come to the house tonight. And they say Halloween is dying.
