Strange question...
I am living in Bogota and I have wavy hair. It has always taken a little more effort to make the waves look good or else to make it straighter. I have fine hair, so I don't like to blow-dry it. The heat and a touch of humidity just ruins it and just don't want to deal wth it anymore.
I was wondering where I could buy a hair straightener (relaxer) in Bogota. I know that in NY they have a million for Black/mulata hair and a few for White hair, but here I have seen none. Most here have bone-straight hair and obviously don't need it, but is there a farmacia or beauty supply store around where Black and mulata women go to buy relaxers in Bogota? I really would rather do it myself then go to a salon. Any suggestions?
Gracias...

I am sure a place like Exito will have them. I think it is a hair straightener. It looks like a hand held press with two hot flat surfaces that squeeze together and they pull their hair through it. BxUnika says on Jan 15, 2007, 13:29: Well... No, not a plancha or physical instrument, but rather a chemical relaxer or creme to permanently straighten it...like a creme in a box that is sold similar to a hair dye or something of that nature. I will try Carrefour, though. Thanks.

Cerealkiller says on Jan 15, 2007, 15:13: You dont need to get a relaxer in Bogota, just wait a few days. While in Bogota I used to straighten it by blow drying it and it would last all day. Bogota isnt that humid, you might want to get one of those conditioner stuff like sedal lissage or something before you blow dry and itll kepp it straight...Flat irons tend to burn the ends and ruin your hair.
