Hello there,

I finally found an apartment, It is located in barrio Arboleda. Does anyone know of a nice gym in this area? Let me know. Also if theres someone familiar with the area, tell me about places to hang out, eat or do whatever.
Than you.

One nice gym is the Hotel Intercontinental. The workout room is air conditioned, and you also have use of their pool.
They also have a sauna and a steam room included in the dues, or you can just go for a walk in the Cali sun to get the same effect.

Do you know the price for using the gym/pool in the Intercontinental?

I lost the price list they gave me, but you can call the hotel. 882-3225. Ask for Claudia, since her English is pretty good.
It's expensive by the month, cheaper by the quarter, and cheaper still by the year. It seems expensive now that the peso is under 2000 per dollar, but you can hang around all day by the pool, sipping away on your favorite beverage, to contradict what you accomplished during your workout.

There is also another club recommended to me by my doctor in the same barrio as the hotel, which is called El PeƱon. That one is 100K per month and is supposed to be the best gym in town, though not air conditioned. You have a set appointment time, and you work out for one hour. A doctor examines you in the beginning and sets up a routine for you. If you go around 10 to 11 in the morning, when the place is empty, you pretty much have your own personal fitness instructor. PM me if you are serious, and I'll find out the name of the place.

Intercontinental sounds good. I'll go check. 3 months of doing zero exercise is too much.
Thanx for the advice

I'll second Expatriate on that; although we didn't take time to use it, I stayed there my first trip to Cali a few years ago now, and the workout facility was rather incredible for a hotel.

I never say: complete. But, it was pretty close, very good quality.

Me again!. I went to visit the gym at Hotel Intercontinental, the hotel is pretty good, the pool looks very atractive but the gym is kind of small. I was told that there is a gym called Flex in the south on Cali, so I think I'll go check. It is pretty far from where I live but they say its a good gym and its visited by hot girls, so it can be helpful to enhance my social life here. Anyone knows about this gym? any suggestions?

Hey Tuco, we didn't say it was like....GOLD'S GYM, or anything. We just said it was pretty good, the best I've ever seen at a hotel outside Las Vegas (Nevada).

But, since you commented about the hotel, .... you saw the Restaurante A Fresco, to the side and up a few steps by the swimmin pool? THAT IS SOME FIRST CLASS DINING... in the evening... excellent service.... excellent food... with a breeze to keep you cool... muy romantico... quiet.... some tranquil latin music... ceiling fans overhead, slowly to help... I don't believe you need to be staying at the hotel, to eat there.

Just take your favorite girl there before or after the dancing.
Then, go offer the front desk a $100 for one of the rooms upstairs with jacuzzi!
You'll be glad you did.

Or, take ten chiquitas there all at once!
There's plenty of room in there for all!
That would be worth the full price tilt!

Sunday Brunch at that outside restaurant is especilly exquisite! MUY RICO!
Jacuzzi, party shower,....
