You have to be kidding Darloup..... we do high cap clips in colombia and have to get yearly inspecions...instead of every 3 years....carry in the US too...all with permits...

You'll think you dont need a gun in colombia when you become the victim....for me, its a glock 22 with lone wolf barrel conversion to 9mm and 33 shot clips...

My personal preference is the SIG P-229. I also own a Beretta 92FS along with several revolvers but nothing compares to the SIG P-229. It's a great handling weapon and is currently carried by the FBI, the DEA, the Secret Service, and the BATF, as well as a number of smaller federal agencies.

Out of curiosity, do you gunowners have any formal training in handling these weapons? If so, what kind of training? Do you think its wise for someone who doesn't have any training to possess a weapon? Personally, I wouldn't want to see a gun in the hand of any idiot who doesn't know what he's doing, would probably be more dangerous to himself and others.

Gringo Spy says on Nov 29, 2008, 19:06:

Some really dumb questions mista! Do you really think anyone of us who has a carry permit doesn't have the proper training to carry a loaded gun in public? Cmon' give us gun owners some credit!

Your brown nosing antics are ridiculous. Grow up.
My comment was as straightforward as could possibly be imagined.

Quite simply: Anyone who thinks that any rational, common sense gun owner would support ownership with no training whatsoever is obviously an idiot - or maybe they simply made one idiotic comment. In any case, my simple observation was valid.

Grow up, and get over yourself.

In the US and Canada a lot of people have guns though very few actually have any kind of formal training. I dont mean going to a park and shooting at cans or bottles but from working in the armed forces, police, etc. Anyone can buy and carry a gun, as many people do, not everyone is trained in its use or even know when its appropriate to use one. No need to get all worked up, just a few questions to get to know the general views of posters here who seem to use guns.

mista: I'm talking about law abiding citizens who have the proper permit in the United States, I'm not talking about those carrying concealed weapons illegally.

F.Y.I. You can't obtain a concealed carry permit until you have taken a concealed weapons course. One has to demonstrate they have the knowledge and training to properly handle a weapon and then and only then can they be issued a CCW. Thus my comment about your questions being really dumb!

0 funny, 0 helpful.

mistajohndoe says on Nov 29, 2008, 20:08:

Well, Gringo Spy, I'm not aware of the rules in the US so thanks for clearing it up for me. Well, as far as I can tell, only a person having a concealed weapon needs to do a course, is that right? What about everyone else? There are millions of gun owners in the US itself, aren't there?
Btw: My questions were about gunowners in general not just about concealed weapons.

Gringo Spy says on Nov 29, 2008, 20:11:

mista; In your comment you stated " Anyone can buy and carry a gun, as many people do, not everyone is trained in its use or even know when its appropriate to use one."

Those of us who "legally" carry a concealed weapon are properly trained and know how to handle them.

And not "everyone" can buy a gun as you stated. One has to pass a background check before you can "legally" purchase a gun. And yes, there are many people who own guns illegally but I'm only addressing those who legally own and those who have CCW's.

Wrong, as usual. Yawn...

After all your stupid, off-topic babble was deleted I requested that my replies to your posts to please be deleted as well. My replies had served their purpose (i.e. making you the fool) so they were no longer necessary. I wanted the thread returned to a simple, straightforward travel thread and the Mods happily complied.

You ruined a simple travel thread. All your rants were rightfully deleted. The thread was saved. Stop being a little baby and get over it.

Right, we'll let the Mods decide whether these (above) comments were a personal attack or not. Next time please try and comment on WHAT I post (e.g. the content) without attacking me. Lots to ask from you, I know, but at least you can pretend to try...

Oh, here is the official rule of this forum since you obviously ignore it:

"Attacking someone's argument is accepted, even encouraged. Attacking the person who made the argument is unnecessary and not allowed. Examples: Calling someone names ("You're such an idiot")."

Better to have tried and failed than having regrets all your life about what you MIGHT have missed

For my security door I used the company "Maxiproteccion" here in Medellin although as I understand it their factory is based in Bogota. My bulletproof door was $3,600,000 and included security 14 cylinders, in the ceiling, floor and walls on both sides. Price included a bulletproof door knob mechanism, MOTTURA with 4 cylinders.

Maxiproteccion's phone number is 444 23 36 should anyone want to contact them.
