Guided visits to Los Andes Univ in Bogota

I found this at the lonelyplanet site, it could be interesting for those interested in studying in one of Colombia's best universities. The email doesn't appear in the posting but I think it's easy to find, just google "Universidad de los Andes" +Bogota

Guided visits to Los Andes University campus in Bogota

Next Thursday February 23rd, Los Andes University will offer the first campus tour of this year. This opportunity is offered to people, over 18 years old, willing to know or re-know the University and willing to have a general overview of this Institution’s history and diverse architecture, which includes buildings officially declared as being of cultural interest; it also includes modern facilities for teaching and research.

The Guided visit program will take place one Thursday per month either at 12:00m or 3:00pm and it takes approximately one hour and a half. Interested people must apply previously in the Centro Cultural via e-mail including personal info such as ID number and phone numbers.

It's a good uni... nothing is broken everything is clean they have up-to-date computers but education-wise I would say that the universidad nacional is better.

Ahh... Although Los Andes is my alma mater, I have to agree with tobntno in some respect. I think it depends on your field (in my case, Nacional is much superior today). When I entered Los Andes in 1990 it was a rather diverse campus, tuition was based on income... when I left, only the cream of the elite could pay the exhorbitant fixed tuition (thanks Ruddy!) I guess it's a comfortable environment for foreign students, but if you want to get in touch with something closer to the average Colombian, I wouldn't recommend it.
