I would agree the article has some laudatory aspects in that it tries to review certain aspects of FARC activities that needed "dusting" by virtue of their "age".

Throughout the PBH postings you will find a lot of criticism about "Europe's" sympathy with the FARC's alleged social aims. In general, most people in Colombia seem irritated by liberal views expressed by Europeans who can comfortably theorize from a distance. They have reason. Thus, one can only hope more investigative journalism (like this) is done by the European media to find the "true North".
