Gringo in Cucuta?

Hola ! Going to Bogota again, my favorite place on earth. My wife wants to take me to Cucuta for a family reunion. How's the area, I have heard not the best place for a gringo. I don't look like a gringo but, u know.

Also, any ideas on the best hotel in Cucuta?

Thanks,

Florida Bob

Cucuta is the last place I would Visit again in Col, its dirty, not very interesting and dangerous. I don't know if there is such a thing as a "Best Hotel" in Cucuta, maybe only the best of the worst. I would pass on a trip there if possible,,,

Its hot and feels more like Venzuela than Colombia......just a place to pass through on the way to Venezuela.....the bus terminal should be avoided if possible

I live about 40 minutes from Cucuta. Be very careful, especially if you do not speak spanish. One time I was there, I had to ask a policeman where the nearest mac machine was, he gave me the directions but first he told me how dangerous it was. What does that tell you????????????

Maybe you can compromise and try Pamplona?

(I also don't reccomend Cucuta one iota).
