Job are tough Think about all the Colombians who have a tough time getting a job. Maybe learn Spanish and then work at a Hotel..

Well, the poster is definitely Colombian - ALL CAPITAL LETTERS! jajaja
Like posters said above ... being fluent in Spanish - I mean truly fluent, has to be a prerequisite. (to obtain or hold a job in Colombia, besides English teaching) Even the US Embassy requires a working knowledge of Spanish for virtually all opportunties - check out their site. Basically, can you live and get by in Colombia without Spanish? Of course, but challenging. Can you WORK in Colombia sin espanol, lo siento. Your friend thinks things are tough in the mortgage business? Tell him how people with professional degrees sell gum and cigarettes outside of discos to make extra money in Colombia. Making a peso in Colombia will be extremely challenging. Good luck to you guys.

Bad idea...One must have some concept of the language before trying to live there..Why not just go live in Miami...Tons of Colombianos, cubanos y boricuas...
