Are there any other gringo couples on PBH living in Colombia?

Do you mean US citizens or just foreigners? :)

Poor but snappy

I'm guessing you are looking for a couple who is 100% foreigner? The term Gringo in Colombia means pretty much anyone who is not from Latin America.

Yes I know of one couple. She is a university English teacher and the hubby is a Pastor. Both are from North Carolina (so these two are REAL gringos). They have lived here for 8 years. However they don't post on PBH.

English - Paisa mix. Doesn't count.

Careful there with the G-word!

I was inquiring mainly about foreign couples who have immigrated to Colombia and who are presently resident here.

My wife and I are recently arrived here and the question seemed appropriate. Figured there might be some perspective there we could draw on. Or not. whatever.

Should I be careful using the "g" word? Someone might get the red-ass?

G word is fine. Just know that in Colombia, a Gringo can be from just about anywhere except South America.

You originally stated that you were looking for couples who posted on PBH.

Gringo, comes from Mexico.
US Soldiers invading Mexico wore green fatigues.
The Mexicans wanted them to go, hence green go, i.e. gringo.
Glad I could help clear that out, being a gringo married to a Colombian, I was curious if I would always be a gringo, but only if I go to Mexico.

No, the US soldiers fighting the Mexicans did not wear green fatigues. They wore blue fatigues. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The US didn't issue green fatigues until after WW1 in the 1930s. Sorry to blow your theory to hell.

And even if the US soldiers wore green, why would the Mexicans say "green go"? I thought Mexicans spoke Spanish.
