Great Restaurant in Bogota - Chapinero 43 st bet 7-8 Ave NR Javeria U

I found a great restaurant in Chapinero area named¨CASA TAMAYO
Calle 43 Numero 7-38
Tel 687-8304
Great food
Great service too
Cosy, well designed makes me feel at home
I went there few times and always felt as if I am in a bistro gourmet place
They deserved to me mentioned here
Its own by a local family who give attention to every detail
One advice- call before you go....they open mainly during lunch hours weekdays - noon to 3pm
Hope you will enjoy this place as I do

Monpirri, it is not Oriental, it is more international....I am not aware of the total menue but I was there three times and had some intresting plates...not the regular you see in other small places........example...once a great garbanzo and ginger soup....once veal....once salmon,,,,they have great home made cakes too...
Maybe we should make a POOR BUT HAPPY meet one day for lunch there?

Eldorado, for one moment I thought you were promoting dishes from other countries instead of let us gringos in limbo learn what are typical Colombian dishes.
I'll check it out next time I'm in Bogota.

Thanks for sharing it.

I hear you, but do not forget 95% of members here all they know about Colombia is bandeja paisa and ajiaco. They basically do not know much about la cocina colombiana!!
If you are Colombian it would be a good to promote our cooking, of course, unless you are gringo, as they call it here, then you are going to promote your food from the states and there is nothing wrong with that but it’s not helpful for those who are interested in learning from other countries as Colombia.
