I read the article... and it is not real complimentary of Colombianas to say the least. It portrays them as "sweet as pie" to get to the US but lunatics once they get there, virtually destoying the life of the American who brought them. They are characterized as horribly jealous and insecure women, willing to do anything to remain in the US including getting pregnant. It totally ingnores the mental issues inherent in the New Yorker featured in the article. Looks like to me that he wanted to "slum it" and dabble in the putang of a 3rd world country. He displayed the typical, and quite common, behavior of the first timer to Colombia: like a wide eyed child in a candy store. His ignorance and immaturity is exacerbated by his destructive behavior and self-serving treatment of another human. And, to save face only for the purposes of the featured article, he "promises" to emotionally and financially support his newborn in Barranquilla. I guess he sees that as a guilt response payment and contribution to the improvement of life in Colombia. (Time will be the judge of that, right?) What a man, right? Well, to me he is just another piece of shit human being that doesnt deserve what he has....but wait! he does end the article with the promise to continue f*#$ing anything else that will hold still long enough for him...again, what a class act!

By the way, the agency he used, International Introductions, is a very reputable agency in Barranquilla, but the article portrays it a hosting only women who are totally psycho and who display Mr Hyde and Dr Jekyll attributes.......which is simply false. I bet you can't find an American women with those tendencies???

GQ article I read it. This relates to the woman in the above comment that is now in the good ol' US ofA. She's in the country with a good job and now she doesn't need him anymore. Just like that, in a matter of months I supposed, she just turned into an american woman that this guy came to Colombia to get away from.

As much as I don't want to believe it, these guys "saved" these women to his detriment and he didn't have to. From this information that is available to me by persons who know have first hand knowledge of these situations, the first mistake was bringing her to the states.

I adore Colombian women. I hope that doesn't happen to me.
