famsearch says on Jul 24, 2006, 21:51: you can say that again! received on june 21st, processed 3 weeks later, and sent to the embassy on july 20th. all that's left now, is to find out the interview date, and we're all set! dan 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

famsearch says on Jul 25, 2006, 01:51: yup, our petitions were amongst the first to be rerouted from nebraska to california. if you're getting married there, why not skip the k visa, and bring her home on a cr1 visa instead? a lot less paperwork, and you save the $$ you would be wasting on the k visa... dan 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

ColombianoGringo says on Jul 25, 2006, 07:53: What is a CRT visa I'm sorry if this is explained elsewhere, but what is the crt visa you mentioned? I have been on this site for some time, but I am just now starting to think about asking my girlfriend in Neiva to marry me.

famsearch says on Jul 25, 2006, 10:42: unbelievable feeling strobs, you should have heard my wife when i told her. that's a cr-1, not cr-t visa. not sure how that would work cg, but after talking with the local senator's office, you're looking at almost a year. with the processing time for the petition (6 months for either the k or ir or cr visa), then the time it takes for the national visa center to process your paperwork, not sure how long it takes the embassy (hopefully neiva is near bogota, as that is the only embassy/consulate in colombia) to process the paperwork, and even then, they set the date of the interview a month in advance. just remember, if you both can be patient with the process, you'll make it. dan 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

famsearch says on Jul 26, 2006, 18:05: lucky you cg, i have to fly my wife and one sis in law with her from medellin to bogota, and reimburse my sis in law here who is flying there to represent me with a power of atty at the interview. but then again, she's the one who got me into this situation, so she can't complain too much... lol. i'd say skip the 129f, go the straight 130 all the way through, a little more time, but a lot less expense and paperwork hassles later on. dan 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
