Good Restaurants in Santa Marta/Rodadero

Reading the thread about the restaurants that are in Medellin, I got kind of jealous. I know that Medellin is much larger than Santa Marta but I would think that Santa Marta should have some very nice restaurants as well.

Do any of you know of any particularly note-worthy restaurants in the area? I'm headed there in May and would certainly like something other than the grab and run food that I seem to find.

Been to La Sartén Dorada in downtown Santa Marta on Cr 4 but did not know about the one in Rodadeo

Pez Caribe - Starts late, not for an early meal

Goit a better address for Sartén in Rodadero?

Best "cazuela de mariscos" in the world, Plaza de San Francisco, 8am-11am. 2500 pesos. I love it!

Blue, located Hotel Ballena Azul, Carrera 1a con Avenida Taganga. They serve Colombian food typical of the coast. Try “El mero en salsa de almeja acompañado con carimañola de camarón es famoso en toda la bahia de Santa Marta."
Che Anibal Macia
“Donde Jimmy" and “Muelle 8" I do not have the address for these two restaurants.

I spent a total of about 10 days in Santa Marta. Families just don't seem to like you going out to eat. They try to stuff every bit of food in the house into your mouth. On my very last day, Mrs. Papi and I had the opportunity to lunch with my "Padrino". He recommended the Karay Restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised as it was also recommended by Gator. It was a little hard to have lunch at 12:30 when your plane was getting ready to leave at 3:22. Mrs. Papi had a Coktel de Camarones; Padrino had the Cazuela de mariscos and I had the Paella. Well worth the visit.

I know what you mean, family does not want you to eat out when you are visiting them.
Coctel de camarones, cazuela and paella are great choices.
